Our semi-weekly Triad Client Spotlight returns today with a truly remarkable Philadelphia-based team of folks doing extraordinary things to make life easier for those who are sometimes left in the shadows of society. We’d love for you to take a little time to meet our friend and client, the Inglis Foundation.
The Inglis Foundation is the parent corporation of several entities that provide programs and services designed to enable people with physical disabilities to enjoy life with the greatest amount of independence and mobility. Their services include an adult day program, affordable and wheelchair accessible housing, care management, community employment, specialty nursing care and the Drink-Aide® adaptive water bottle.
Inglis Foundation traces its origins back to 1877 when the first “Inglis House” was founded in Philadelphia to serve people with physical disabilities. Originally located in southwest Philadelphia, 50 years later a new facility was built on the current site at 2600 Belmont Avenue. Today, Inglis serves well over 2,000 people annually.
Recently, we caught up with the President/CEO of Inglis, Mr. Gavin Kerr, who was kind enough to give us some insight about what Inglis does for the community, and the challenges they face on a daily basis. As an entity that relies almost solely on Medicaid dollars to serve its customers, you can easily imagine the tough times in which Inglis has been forced to operate. But they’ve continued to do so – and thrive – due to the amazing dedication of the whole Inglis team.
Below the spotlight video, we invite you to also watch a short clip about how Inglis has reinvented itself through its strong, lasting partnership with us.
Take a minute and say hello to Inglis Foundation. You will be glad you did.
