Support the PLCA Internship Program at the Annual Gridiron!

OldtimejournoThe PA Legislative Correspondents' Association invites one and all to its annual "off the record" evening with Governor Wolf and other movers and shakers on Tuesday, Oct. 13. 

Tickets can be purchased for $75 each (includes one soft drink, beer or glass of wine) or $70 each for purchases of 10 tickets or more on our website (http://www.palegislativecorrespondents.org/gridiron/) or by visiting Jan Murphy of Pennlive/The Patriot-News or Marc Levy of The Associated Press in the Capitol newsroom, Room 524 E. 

The evening starts at 5 p.m. with a cash bar and light buffet in Memorial Hall/Village Square of the State Museum of Pennsylvania. Show starts at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium but highlights of past shows will begin about 20 minutes beforehand. Doors open around 4:30. Please enter through the plaza doors facing the Keystone Building. 

Parking is available in the parking spaces that usually are reserved on Commonwealth Avenue and North Street starting after 5 p.m. Parking is also available in the metered spaces around the museum and nearby parking garages. 

Proceeds of this event support our Capitol newsroom internship program.

The 12-week program for two interns consists of two-week rotations at publications such as The Allentown Morning CallThe Philadelphia InquirerPittsburgh Post-GazettePittsburgh Tribune-ReviewPennlive/Patriot-News, and Capitolwire.com.

Interns assist reporters covering the state budget and report on committee hearings and other political and policy stories in a fast-paced news environment. Interns are expected to pitch their own ideas as well as take assignments on a variety of subjects. We are seeking candidates who can produce their own stories, whether writing quickly for the web on a breaking news event or turning around longer enterprise pieces.
